Kinder

Kindergarten PEP is a "push-in" program.  Starting in January, I will be observing, working with small groups and teaching whole class lessons.

If the Dinosaurs Came Back

After reading the book, "If the Dinosaurs Came Back", students created a similar illustration and wrote what they thought would happen.

Sorting and Classifying Aliens!

Kindergarten students were presented with a "thinking story" about aliens.  Their job was to sort the aliens into categories based on their characteristics.   They did a great job!  Afterwards, they made an alien of their own using Model Magic.

GeoBoards!

Students are trying to recreate pictures on their geoboards with rubberbands and then transfer the designs on paper.

3D Shapes with Toothpicks and Marshmallows:

Building Shapes!  The students are learning the properties of each shape.  They are building  2D shapes and will work their way up to 3D shapes such as cubes and square pyramids.

It's all about shapes!  Kinder students are experimenting with creating new shapes.  For example, what shapes could you use to fill in this triangle?  How many of each?  Can you come up with a completely different solution?

Continuing our study of shapes and their properties, students are building 2D and 3D shapes out of toothpicks and marshmallows.

It's all about shapes!  Kinder students are experimenting with creating new shapes.  For example, what shapes could you use to fill in this triangle?  How many of each?  Can you come up with a completely different solution?

Kindergarten students are becoming vehicle designers.  They are creating vehicles and will actually make their idea come to life with recyclable materials.

Blast Off!  My youngest engineers are exploring space.  How can air power be used to move objects? Students will build and test different rocket ships as they use science skills such as asking questions, making predictions and testing.

I have begun working with my youngest students!  We will be playing 'Build a Monster" game. Students will create double-headed colorful monster drawings using a body part key while practicing their numbers.
